Fr. Steve’s updates

I was in treatment or appointments from 8 – 6 today, which was very tiring.

We had more detailed discussions about the upcoming surgery, meeting with many of the specialists who will be available to help with the spine, blood vessels, urinary system and the sarcoma itself.

What’s scary is that – despite all the scans and tests they have – they really won’t know how extensive the damage is to those areas until they actually go in and remove the tumor. One doctor said, “We’re prepared for many different possibilities. We’re good at thinking on our feet, but basically we have to make it up as we go.”

The difference between best and worst cases is such a wide swing. The fact the tumor is shrinking is encouraging. Most days, I am optimistic and can find a silver lining.

Today was more sobering, facing the details of the serious nature of what is going on inside of me. These are the days I really need to walk with the Lord, trusting God to carry me through.

These are the days I really need to walk with the Lord,
trusting God to carry me through.

  1. All I can say to you is remember that you do not walk this path alone. There are so many of us out here lifting you into the Father’s arms! Be assured of the constant prayer support. I know the fear you speak of, but God has ben so good to us! Stay strong and determined that it is all in his will and plan. You are witnessing to so many of us with your faith walk. Stay true my friend! God bless, Joe

  2. It has been my experience that they give you the worst scenario…but it rarely occurs. Remember this..My great aunts had surgery there…when Dr. Mayo himself was not even sure of what he was doing..BUT it was successful..! Today you are in the hands of doctors who understand far more..so you are going to sail right through it..! They are giving you all of the disclaimers..But they know they can do it..! You betcha..! (your guardian angel talked to my guardian angel, and says you will be fine !)…Got that..?
Practice your dancing..Stay set for adventure…God is with you (My guardian angel said so).
Don’t forget..you are in our prayers..
Just don’t take any wooded nikkels..!
    We Love YOU..!

  4. Dear Fr. Steve,

Though you are not known to many of my friends, other than through my communication to them, I have asked members of my spiritual support system to add you to their healing light & prayer list. As we know, “there are no strangers here, just friends we haven’t met”, (yet). I figure you can’t have too much healing light coming your way.

I am a spiritual astrologer and would like to offer you any spiritual information that might assist you in your time of healing. I don’t know if an awareness of astrology is included in your Christian spiritual belief system, but may I have your date/time/place of birth? I assure you that I only seek the highest blessed knowledge to share with my clients. I charge nothing. Sincerely, Joseph Kiss, Jr.

  5. We pray for your healing every night and we think about you and the school and send our love.
O’Shea (our 5 yr. old Sheltie) won 4 ribbons at the American Kennel Club Agility Championships in Tulsa last month and we are blessed to have been able to attend after Doug’s long battle with cancer (he won) in 2007/2008. You can beat this! You will! We love you very much. God loves you, we all need you in our lives.

  6. It sounds like you have very thorough and compassionate doctors willing to perform the best that they can…my thoughts and prayers are with you.
