Jesus was noted for his companionship with people at table, and that’s often part of my “work” at St. Joseph’s.
After mass, I visited the Speyer Home for brunch. The 6th – 8th grade boys were most welcoming. They filled me in on how the track team is doing, made predictions about their upcoming home run derby.
We talked NBA playoffs over scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy. Eighth grader Sean helped his houseparent with most of the cooking, and it turned out great.
Then for supper, I was off to a pot luck shared by the six homes that make up our middle school grades. We had a lull in the rains, and sitting across from each other on the picnic tables was great fun.
Campus comes more alive when we can be outside in the warmer weather.

Although this too, is a cliche it is heartfelt. i wish I could send you some S.Carolina sunshine and temperature for your picnics. Next time you come on a visit
let it be Spring when all azaleas, wisteria,
camellia and others are in full bloom. So much so that property lines are covered with exquisite colors!
Please don’t forget to rest between your visits. You have been through an ordeal with
great courage.

Father Steve I am so glad to hear you are finished with your radiation treatments, I hope all is well with you now just take at easy until your strenght all comes back, that will take about 6 months I think. You see my husband died of pancreatic cancer, it was very painful 24/7. I still couldn’t get the computer to register me on your Face book so tommorrow I will call and see if anyone has the time to help me get entered in your face book. God Bless you Father Steve.
