Before the game even tipped off, the energy was building.

“I’d like to think us students are going to win,” Aleighya, an eighth grader at St. Joseph’s, said with a smile. “We aren’t going to go easy. You adults are going down!”

Not to be outdone, a staff member, Alex, responded with just as much confidence. “I think the staff is going to win! All day!”

Even Jeff, St. Joseph’s referee, had a prediction. “I think the students are going to outlast the adults, stamina-wise, so I think they will take the win.”

From tip-off to the final seconds, the game delivered on every bit of that anticipation. The Rec Center was filled with loud cheers as students and staff battled back and forth. Every possession mattered. Every basket brought the crowd to its feet. Neither side was willing to give an inch.
